Welcome to the Sir William Robertson Academy FILMCLUB.
FILMCLUB aims to make a wide range of films available to young people, which challenge, educate, amaze and inspire. FILMCLUB is a government funded school activity and, as part of their work, they sometimes film the clubs, interview the children and publish video material on their website. Occasionally, there may be local or national press taking photographs
A consent form is available in school to enable your child to attend FILMCLUB, all children must return this form in order to attend.
Normally we will show films appropriate for your child’s age range, however, from time to time, we may show a higher certification than your child’s age group, that we deem suitable and appropriate. Film classifications are explained below, and you should indicate on the form if you give your permission for your child to watch those films.
Film Classifications
U-suitable for audiences aged four years and over. U films should be set within a positive moral framework and offer reassuring counterbalances to any violence, threat or horror.
PG-Parental Guidance. General viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children.
12A- Suitable for 12 years and over. Responsibility for allowing under-12’s to view the film, lies with the accompanying or supervising adult.
15- Suitable only for 15 years and over.
FILMCLUB will run after school on a Tuesday every fortnight approximately. Dates will be displayed on the FILMCLUB notice board and on the school website. Pupils do not have to attend every film, only those which appeal to them and are appropriate for their age group. Pupils will be expected to sign up for a film by the Monday previous to the film to give us an idea of numbers attending.
