Welcome to the Sixth Form section of our website – we hope you find it useful and informative.
Sixth Form learning provides students with considerable academic challenge but huge potential for reward and self-fulfilment. Sixth Form study also provides a gateway to entering higher education and the university system.
We aim to ensure that all teachers and students in the school enjoy mature working relationships built around mutual respect and shared responsibility. We value all our students and, through our pastoral support systems, pre-Sixth Form interviews, target setting and monitoring, we shall offer personalised guidance and support throughout the Sixth Form.
Our aim is to provide our students with the best opportunities to progress into higher education or into the world of work, equipped to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century. We shall provide care and continuity and we are confident of the breadth and quality of the education and support we shall offer.
Sixth Form Admissions
The requirement for entry to the Sixth Form is 5 or more A*-C grades at GCSE including English and Maths. Students should normally have achieved at least a grade C in the subjects that they choose to study. Some subjects may require a student to have achieved a B grade to progress to the A Level. This information can be found in the Sixth Form prospectus.
All students should expect to study 4 AS Level subjects plus General Studies in Year 12. This will generally reduce to 3 A2 courses in Year 13.
We warmly welcome students who wish to join our sixth form from other schools. Our aim is to make them feel part of Sir William Robertson and enjoy all we have to offer.
