We Love Charities!

Three years ago, House Council students decided that the school should have associated charities, which receive our donations throughout the year. Recently the House Council thought it was important to have another vote. The House Representatives went back to their base groups and asked the students to choose the local (in our area), a national (within the UK ) and an international (within the world) charity.

The chosen charities are:

	Local Charity – Beaumond House – Newark This charity provides supportive comforting care to patients with life limiting or terminal illnesses and their families. All care is provided at no cost to the patient or their family.
	National Charity – Help for Heroes This charity raises money to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded by serving their country.
	International Charity – Water Aid This charity uses practical solutions to provide clean water, safe sanitation and hygiene education to the world's poorest people.

This means that money raised in school, through termly events, will now go to support these very worthwhile causes. The school aims to have three charity events a year, the proceeds of each going to one of the chosen charities.
