Shakespeare for Schools Festival 2012
On Wednesday, 17th October 2012, fifteen students left to prepare and perform Shakespeare’s The Tempest to a packed audience at the Lincoln Drill Hall. Students from Years 8 to 11 have been rehearsing the 30min abridged version for the Shakespeare for Schools Festival which has this year involved over 1500 students performing up and down the country. They performed alongside other secondary schools and a primary school. Their spectacular performance was well received and took honours of being the final play of the night, following Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and King Lear. Months of hard work, weekends at SWRA rehearsing and regular lunch time and afterschool meetings saw the play performed without any hitches. We hope you were there, and that you will join us next year when we showcase more of our students diligent hard work and enthusiasm.
